Breitbart spokesperson resigns over his company’s mishandling and dishonesty of assaulted reporter at a Trump rally. This Huffpost story includes what the company was telling employees who were trying to help.
Buzzfeed broke the story first.
Here’s the thing, I likely don’t share political views in common with Kurt Bardella, but I am impressed by his integrity, as the first (and only?) person to stand up from Breitbart for reporter, Michelle Fields, who was assaulted by a Trump campaign staffer at one of his rallies.
It’s all to easy to hang back in the shade, make your interests numbers 1, 2 & 3, and say eff you to the world. The dishonesty of Breitbart caused him to quit, as it became evident that they were putting political goals in before the safety and welfare of their workers. That’s a loyal friend, and we should applaud this brother for setting the example of doing the right thing. Resigning one’s job can be a major stressor, losing income, status, and the social support from that arena.
A respectful nod goes out to Kurt for telling it straight and doing it right.
