To my brothers at the subreddit reddit.com/r/asianmasculinity. The original author emailed me about the repost, and I don’t think we saw eye-to-eye. He let me know he was taking down the link to my site, and I did likewise for his.
Now, ideologically speaking, I don’t think one would get agreement for what constitutes “ideal” action across any diverse population of people. The term Asian men encompasses, what, over a billion people. There would naturally be a lot of disagreement. As far as I can tell, and I have done solicitations to the public along with other sites and blogs, you’re looking at one of maybe five bloggers not associated with an organization or collective (like hyphen or 8Asians). Personal relationship and sex blogs? I don’t know of any others. I look too.
That’s less of a collective voice than I expected, so at this point, my philosophy is to never bring down a brother who is trying, to encourage, to promote a safe space where some real discourse and social change can begin. That’s all.
