Justin Lin is the director of Finishing the Game, which was released in 2007. I went to see it at the Castro Theater in San Francisco the year it traveled the film festival circuit. It’s a comedy about five actors in the search for the “new Bruce Lee.” I know, with a storyline like that, I was prepared to cringe, but it was hilarious.
It was either there or at the Better Luck Tomorrow premier at the Van Ness AMC that he came out after the film to run a question and answer session. He was quite personable and very politically aware. I enjoyed Better Luck Tomorrow too which made its rounds originally with The Sundance Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.
Wikipedia: Justin Lin is a Taiwanese-born American film director whose films have grossed $2 billion worldwide. He is best known for his work on Better Luck Tomorrow, The Fast and the Furious 3–6 and the television series Community.
I’m looking forward to the next Star Trek, especially with Justin Lin at the con. And may he direct The Fast and the Furious franchise until the 33rd installment. Cheers bro.
