I was lodging only 15 miles away from a popular Mount Shasta trailhead. It was pretty sweet being able to see the full mountain range from my bed. Granted, there are really only the two Mount Shasta peaks and Black Butte. But it is so visually striking because of the lack of other mountains around it. It rises to 14,179 feet, attracting mountaineers and climbers from all over.
These photos are from a clearing near the beginning of the trail. It was a scene of serenity, and I wish you could have been there in person. There was no mountaineering for me, I was wearing flip-flops and a smile. And my other clothing too, you mental image pervert.

Bye for now. I’ll be back.
